Henry fam update & pics at our reunion!

Damon & I with the boys who have us wrapped around their little fingers! We adore these three guys...more to come in January........
For a couple of days after Shavonne's graduation, we were able to enjoy our happy, busy, growing family. How we miss these awesome young people and little ones!

The BYU kids, Spencer & Kiana

Spencer is finishing up his Neuroscience degree and Kiana is finishing in Spanish with a Chem minor. She works as a science TA and also fundraising for BYU. He manages some research in Dr. Kay's sleep lab  and at PRA Research as a sleep tech.

Sherry, Felix, and Johannes

Sherry is still working as a Project Management intern at FamilySearch. Felix is working at his opera singing, learning to run and climb, and being a bilingual baby genius. Johannes is finishing his degree in Ancient Near Eastern Studies and pre-med.

Luckily we don't have to miss Victoria, yet

Tori is trying to keep busy with her service mission, she has been the guinea pig for service missionaries in this area and we are working to make sure she is able to volunteer in areas where she can be with real live people often enough. She also does family history work on her home computer and sometimes gets to go out with the sister missionaries from the Vancouver mission.

Shavonne, Johnny, Jordan, and Michael

Johnny is learning to crawl and has a great voice! Shavonne finally has some time to knit and crochet after finishing school, between chasing boys and Young Women. Michael is enjoying his work at Great American Insurance and doing Kentucky stuff like hunting. Jordan is talking, entertaining his brother, and being a loving, energetic little 2 year old growing his independence.

Sherry was always the instigator in our family, she definitely has met her match. haha

Our three smart sons!

And four brilliant daughters!

I will recap the reunion fun next time.

2017

Much much overdue Henry updates. My hands are tired a lot from typing/mousing at work so I have not updated the blog for way too long. My apologies to you and myself since it is an important family history tool!

This year Damon & I celebrated our 28th Anniversary

Little brother Johnny!
Michael & Shavonne had a whirlwind summer, they bought a house and had a baby all within a month! They live just south of Cincinnati Ohio. Jordan is the most loving big brother to Johnny that we could imagine, he is a little whirlwind of energy & joy. We miss him terribly, along with his terrific parents.

Another child graduated from BYU
Sherry (and baby) at the Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU Class of 2017

Sherry & Johannes welcomed baby Felix a few weeks after Sherry graduated with a degree in Theater Arts with a minor in Management. She is working for FamilySearch, mostly from home but in the office a couple of days a week when Johannes is home with the baby.
Isn't he just a doll? He loves to "sing" and "talk" a lot and has a high pitched squeal like his mommy did. He resembles both parents, I think!

Spencer found the love of his life!

After serving in Guácimo Costa Rica, these two became friends who wrote each other over the 6 months Kiana was still on the mission & Spencer was home at BYU. When she returned they had some classes together with other mission friends, hit it off, & eventually Spencer somehow convinced her she couldn't live without him.
Spencer & Kiana are such a great team, they are both studying science & Spanish at BYU, Kiana plans to teach and currently is a TA for Physical Science & coaches a jump rope team, while Spence hooks people up to a zillion instruments for sleep studies, takes their blood, does MRI's, & manages the other research assistant students for Professor Kay. They hope to spend some time in Pittsburgh this coming year so Spencer can study there for a semester, he will take the MCAT the following Spring. They both love reading Harry Potter.

I just have to mention what an amazing gift all of our children's new families are to our family. The Moons love Spencer like another set of parents, as it should be, and offer the kids support & excellent advice as well as a terrific example. We have been so blessed with our children in law and their families.

Last but never least, we have another missionary serving (and we didn't even have to say goodbye to her, Sister Henry is serving here in Vancouver and living at home!)

Tori also graduated from high school this year, she plans to attend either LDS Business College or BYU-I after her mission. We took her to Hawaii for her senior Spring Break #spoiledyoungestchild

2017 has been another wonderful year for the Henry family. We are all healthy, including our parents, we have jobs we enjoy, are able to travel a bit to visit the distant children & grandchildren, & love our church family we are blessed to serve as well as receive service from. Damon is really enjoying his time in the Bishopric, Lisa is getting to know the 14-15 year old girls in her new assignment, & Tori is also serving as our Ward Chorister.

God bless you, may your new year be full of goodness and hope.

and GO DUCKS!

Tomorrow is my last day of seminary.

I am sorry for not keeping up on the blog, but I want to express my gratitude for the opportunity to push myself beyond my physical capacity and teach seminary this year while working full time, putting in 60 hour weeks. I had the most wonderful students who showed up every day at 6:10am with the desire to study the scriptures and develop into the best people they can be. These 16 and 17 year olds are incredible young humans and will be a light and a blessing to the world throughout their lives.
Michael graduated from college, and he and Shavonne moved to Georgia where he has started his actuary career and Shavonne is working for the Mission President of the Atlanta North Mission.

Sherry is getting married in August to a great guy she met when she went back to BYU. He's actually from Germany. Good thing she went on that mission, huh?

Tori was in a play at school. It wiped out her grades but she learned a lot and gained so much self esteem.

She also was able to go to Prom, she looked like a princess!

Spence is loving his mission, you can check out his blog too.
Damon has been traveling all over the US for work, and really enjoying his job. I think that is about it, now for lots of wedding to-do's since seminary is over!

Stories of our life - Ending 2014, Beginning 2015

Sherry arrived home in December and was so sweet and emotional at the airport where friends and family gathered to welcome her back from Germany.

Released the next morning by Pres. Christensen
Her boyfriend Sam welcoming her home (he didn't forget her! <3 )

She was home for a few days, then went to Baja to visit her Granny and Grampy Ace with her bff Katy

Would you believe she went to Utah right after that, to be a bridesmaid for her best friend/companion ChaiDee Woods Brown's wedding?

And she saw her Provo Mom Wendy!

Then we enjoyed Christmas with Mike and Shavonne home also

Tori Choir Concert
"Family Picture" with Spence!
Skyping Elder Spencer Henry in Costa Rica on Christmas Eve
We were able to have the Elders for Christmas Dinner and skyping their families
They are SO in love
Ovation/Boychoir Reunion

And Nick & ChaiDee came for Sherry's homecoming talk and gathering at the end of December, then whisked her away back to BYU where so many mission friends are studying or live nearby

Damon - really enjoying his new job and lots of travel that comes along with it. He is still teaching Sunday School and subbing for High Priests and Seminary any time he can grab a gig from friends who are going out of town.
Lisa - Loves her seminary class (the best seminary class) so much. Managing the crazy schedule of a full time job (still at Crafts Americana with a wonderful manager and coworkers!) and part time seminary teacher, weekends are full of errands and resting up for the next week.
Tori - doing great in Seminary, Young Womens, choir, school, and her hobbies of singing and drawing!
Sherry - you can find her "after mission blog" here, she will be performing at BYU in Princess Academy in May-June.
Michael & Shavonne - finishing up at BYU, enjoying teaching their missionaries at the MTC, and preparing to move to Atlanta after graduation this spring, Michael took a job with a GERMAN company (ok they also have offices in Brazil to be fair) as an Actuary.
Spencer - just loving his mission so much, you can read about it here!
